Distance Riding Series

Our next event will be Lids for Kids on May 21st. This ride benefits our Youth Earn a Bike and Kids Bike Club programs, ensuring that we are able to provide the graduates with helmets. This ride always consists of a 25 mile route as well as a fifty mile route. In an effort to include those who may not feel comfortable taking on those distances a couple of our awesome volunteers have designed a series of rides aimed to help build up your ability to tackle longer distances. These rides will also be useful if you ever wanted to spend the summer doing all the charity rides but always worried about tackling those distances. Below are the details of the rides, they will be a really fun time so come join us!
Distance Riding Series
Join the Community Bike Project for a free four week series of progressive rides to build your endurance for the summer riding season. Each week we will increase distance by 10 miles, building up to 40 miles.
Week 1 - Saturday, April 22 (9am): 10 miles
Week 2 - Saturday, April 29 (9am): 20 miles
Week 3 - Saturday, May 6 (9am): 30 miles
Week 4 - Saturday, May 13 (9am): 40 miles
All rides will begin and end at the Community Bike Project. All rides are no-drop, we will start and finish as a group.
We will leave the shop at 9am each Saturday. Rain days will be communicated via the bike shop’s Facebook page.
Rides are self-supported. Part of the longer rides will be on crushed limestone. For the 30 and 40 mile rides we will make a pit stop at a gas station along the route.
There will be an optional 50 mile ride on May 21st to benefit the Bike Shop’s youth earn a bike program. Registration fee will be announced closer to that date.
